Haiti Relief Update: January 19, 2010 Your immediate finances have been sent to help with the purchase of 170 metric tons of food & water under the supervision of Denny Nissley ’79 alumni of CFNI, and founder of Christ In Action. By means of a partner ministry called Friend Ships the food and water has left Port Mercy, LA, and will arrive Wednesday, January 27th in Port au Prince, Haiti. Denny has also purchased an 8,300 square foot tent that he will be using to set-up a volunteer base for a gospel/relief center in Port au Prince, Haiti, called Camp Hope, which will receive teams who wish to volunteer their time and building and medical expertise for the coming months in Port au Prince. Denny is spearheading a program to transport, by ship, pre-fabricated homes (housing a family of 6-8) for immediate shelter. Each home takes a mere 2 hours to assemble and costs only a few hundred dollars. They are looking to build entire housing communities, Christian schools and medical facilities for each community. They will also be planting a church for each community in connection with local Haitian pastors. Now is an opportune time to relieve suffering, provide for those in need and communicate the gospel in word and deed! Please help us to provide these vital necessities by clicking on the link provided. It’s time to be Christ For The Nations! World Relief Director at CFNI |
